SCHOOL children have been educating drivers who fail to abide by the 30mph speed limit. Police have teamed up with Holsworthy Primary School as part of its Safer Schools Partnership. Officers are keen to educate motorists to reduce their speed, which will have an impact on the amount of people injured or killed, following a collision in or with a speeding vehicle. PCSO Emma Tomkies from Holsworthy Police said: "School Speedwatch aims to educate drivers, with anyone exceeding the limit being pulled in and asked questions by the primary school pupils, including 'how would you feel if you hit me or one of my friends?' which prompts some very thought provoking responses. This is used as an alternative to enforcement, but works just as well." For the full report, and a round up of the latest area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
