THE pupils of Ashwater and Halwill Primary Schools joined together for an exciting day learning about science.
On Friday, November 20, Ashwater Primary School hosted a Carey Federation Science Day with its partner school, Halwill.
The pupils were able to engage with six activity stations. These included making a kaleidoscope, balloon rockets, paper chromatography and making chemicals bubble and react.
The schools were lucky enough to be visited by scientist Dr James Watts, a physicist, who ran an amazing activity station on thermal imaging.
The children came to school that day in old clothes, with a warm jumper and trainers, as some of the activities were a little messy.
Executive headteacher David Jones said: “The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all the children, who had a great science experience and also made new friends from their partner school.
“The staff collaborated brilliantly to produce a fantastic team effort and made the day such a positive and enjoyable experience for the children. Well done, everybody.”
