EGLOSKERRY Primary School recently took part in ‘Polar Celebration Day’ after exploring the topic in their spring term studies.

On Tuesday, March 22, both staff and pupils came to school dressed as ‘something polar’, linked to their term topic ‘Exploring Polar Kingdoms’.

At 1.30pm, parents, carers and members of the community were invited to attend a celebration of the children’s learning, with a performance of the ‘Penguin Song’ and a dance from their Christmas play ‘Snowflake’, performed by the Reception class.

The day was fun and successful, with the children’s in-depth knowledge of the Polar regions being illustrated for all to see.

Egloskerry Primary School was also joined by Year 4 Lewannick Primary School children, who collaborated on this topic.

Throughout the year, Egloskerry has also been linked with Trekenner and South Petherwin, and has communicated with other schools nationally and globally on this subject; very impressive indeed!

Additionally, ‘Future Roots’ completed a workshop with the children on the Water Cycle; Mrs Jenny Nash arranged Forest School activities; and Polar explorer, Antony Jinman, organised a Polar expedition with the children from Class 3.

The pupils from Egloskerry Primary School have shown a great deal of knowledge on the subject, and the day was enjoyed by all.
