SATURDAY is set to be a day-long love affair with meat, drink, fire and music in Launceston town square.
The second annual Lanson Grill Fest hits town to celebrate US-style low ’n’ slow barbecue and grilling, Real Ale and rockabilly — and everyone is invited.
Enjoy high quality local meat cooked over ethically sourced wood and charcoal by some of the region’s top barbecue chefs. Eat your fill at the barbecue hot street food stands and check out the smoking and grilling demos and professional barbecue equipment.
Organiser Joe Thomson, who runs Firebrand Bar & Restaurant said: “We’re excited to build on what was a great event last year and bring even more to the festival in 2016. We want to show Cornwall the amazing food being produced in smokers and on barbecues. Barbecuing isn’t about charred sausages and undercooked chicken.
“We love experimenting at the restaurant but it’s even better to be able to bring it out into the town and make it accessible for everyone with some great music, entertainment and a full bar.
“There will also be vegetarian and vegan options as we’re determined this will be a great day for everyone.”
A craft beer and cider tent will run alongside a milkshake, cocktail and coffee bar showcasing some of the best local breweries and produce.
Chill in the square with a drink, listening to live rockabilly music from 2pm, with circus skills workshops, stilt walking, face painting and more for the family from 11am.
