THE wait was over and pupils at Budehaven Community School were eager to rip open those manilla envelopes with their all important results.

A spokesperson said: “We are very proud of our Year 11 students who have received their GCSE results today [August 25].”

After two years of disruption due to COVID-19, our Year 11 sat their GCSE examination in May and June this year, and their results demonstrate the hard work they put into their studies. These are the first set of formal GCSE examinations that the school has had since 2019, with the last two years’ results being centre assessed and teacher assessed grades.

The spokesperson added: “We are really delighted with the outcomes our young people have achieved, and the results the school has achieved overall. The hard work and effort of our students, teachers and support staff is clearly seen in the results.

“We wish our young people well in all they do, and look forward to welcoming many of them back in September as they join our Sixth Form, which achieved outstanding outcomes last week, which ranked in the top 10% of all providers nationally.”
