A SCHOOL in Launceston has honoured a member of staff after she marked her 30th year of working at the site.
The Autumn term marks an incredible milestone for one of St Stephen’s Community Academy’s most cherished team members. Mrs Karen Fry, is a member of the school’s Area Resource Base and is celebrating 30 years of dedicated service at the school.
Karen first joined the school as a Learning Support Assistant back in 1995, however, after many years of hard work, she found her place in the school’s Area Resource Base.
A spokesperson for the academy said: “It quickly became clear that her remarkable skill set, endless patience, and passion for helping every child succeed were something truly special. It wasn’t long before she found her calling in our Area Resource Base where she has since made a lasting impact on the lives of countless children and families.”
The school has praised her ‘unwavering commitment’ and has described her as a’true inspiration’ to all of those in and around the academy.
The spokesperson continued: “Karen’s compassion, determination, and unwavering commitment to providing the very best opportunities for all learners have made her not only an integral part of our team but a true inspiration to us all. She is deeply respected and dearly loved by both staff and pupils alike.”
Maura Furber, executive headteacher at the school has also praised Mrs Fry’s passion and dedication to her role, thanking her for her work.
Speaking to the Post, she said: “We feel incredibly fortunate to have such a passionate and dedicated individual as part of our school family. Thank you, Mrs Fry, for everything you do and all you have done over the past three decades.
“Here’s to the next 30 years!”
