MEMBERS of the public are being encouraged to attend a community event being organised by the Holsworthy Community Involvement Group (HCIG) regarding the local area’s inpatient bed facilities.

The event will be held in Holsworthy Memorial Hall between noon and 8pm, with set up available from 11am, on Tuesday, February 18.

HCIG is a group of members made up of local Holsworthy residents and community leaders, the local NHS and county and district councillors, who have been working with local people since June 2018 to look at how the Holsworthy area has the right services in future. Running alongside this the group has been in discussion about the need for beds at the town’s community hospital, following their temporary closure in 2017.

Local resident and vice chair of HCIG, Geoff Cusick said: “There is expected to be a good attendance and we see this as a great opportunity to make new and develop stronger community links.”

The group has extended an invitation to a number of local organisations to demonstrate what services and support is already available to the people in the Holsworthy area.

He added: “We will provide a table and two chairs and space for any promotional displays you may have. There will also be light refreshments provided throughout the day. Further details will be confirmed on booking.

“If you’re not able to attend, or you wish to discuss the event or send some literature or other communications, please also get in touch. We look forward to welcoming you to the event.”

To book a space for an organisation and up to two people or to discuss the event contact Jon Sewell at [email protected] or call 01392 675446 before Friday, February 14.
