YEARS 1 and 2 at Lewannick CP School have been learning all about London this half term, and have recently taken a glimpse long into the past, as they learnt about the famous Great Fire of London.
To start the term’s topic off, Years 1 and 2, also known as ‘Hawks’, learnt about the Great Fire of London on Monday, February 20. The children spent the day building replica houses to those that were located on Pudding Lane in 1666, where the fire started.
At the end of the day, Miss Bowden recreated Pudding Lane in the school’s field. She then showed pupils how the fire had spread from the bakery, all the way down the lane.
A spokesperson from the school said: “The children had a brilliant day, and certainly one they won’t forget!”
