Stoke Climsland Primary School was the scene of much activity on Saturday, June 13, the day of the annual June Jamboree in aid of school facilities. This summer fair is traditionally the biggest fundraiser on the school calendar, organised and run by the school PTA with the help of other enthusiastic parents, teachers and pupils. There were a range of attractions, the most popular of which included a large water slide down the slope at the bottom of the school field, pony rides, a penalty shootout, the chance to throw wet sponges at Year 6 boys, and the opportunity to drive an electric car, built by Year 6 pupils, around an obstacle course, either for fun or against the clock. There were also bouncy

castles and many stalls and games organised by Year 6 pupils, the teachers, parents, the local Scouts,

people raising funds for charities, the Ducklings Pre-school group, local craftspeople and other small

businesses. Some of the activities, such as a chalk paving stone art competition and street surfers, were free of charge. Refreshments included a barbecue, cream teas and ice creams, with a wide variety of home-made cakes on sale. The PTA would like to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make the event a success, raising over £1,000 for school facilities and equipment.
