Devon councillor expenses 2018/19

DEVON County and Torridge District councils have released figures for its councillors’ expenses for the financial year 2018/19.

The councils are required to release details of councillors’ expenses each year and have published information regarding their basic, special responsibility for cabinet members, committee chairs and vice chairs, subsistence which is paid to cover expenses when carrying out approved duties including accommodation costs, travel, electronic access and dependent carers allowances.

In the Post area Cllr Barry Parsons, for Holsworthy Rural Ward received — Basic allowance, £12,369.35; Special responsibility, 18,554.52; Mileage and subsistence, £3,029.22; Total, £33,953.09.

In Torridge, the total expenses paid to councillors in 2018/19 amounts to £231,194.77.

Cllr Jon Hutchings, Holsworthy — Basic allowance, £1,851.23; Electronic access, £143; Travel and subsistence, £72; Total, £2,066.23.

Cllr Peter Watson, Broadheath — Basic allowance, £4,660.44; Special responsibility, £4,389.84; Electronic access, £360; Travel and subsistence, £2,335.95: Total, £11,746.23.

Cllr Philip Hackett, Broadheath — Basic allowance, £4,660.44; Special responsibility, £2,194.92; Electronic access, £360; Travel and subsistence, £3,675.51: Total, £10,890.87.

Cllr David Jones, Holsworthy, was elected in May so details of his expenses won’t be published until 2019/20.

Cornwall councillor expenses 2018/19

CORNWALL Council has published the total annual sum each of its councillors received in the year April 2018 to March 2019.

The council is required to release details of councillors’ expenses each year and have published information regarding their basic, special responsibility, subsistence which is paid to cover expenses when carrying out approved duties including accommodation costs, travel and dependent carers allowances.

In total Cornwall’s councillors received £2,187.089.51 in expenses last year.
