BUDE Infant School and Bude Junior School is now a ‘federation’.
This new title means they are still two separate schools, but are joined with one executive head teacher, Mrs Sally Gordon, who was the head teacher of Bude Infant School.
The schools also have one governing body, made up of representatives from both schools’ former governing bodies.
Mrs Gordon said: “This is a really exciting time for children, staff and parents. Working together, we are going to be able to develop stronger links with parents and improve the learning for all our children.”
For pupils, this means a continuous journey from Reception to Year 6, shared expectations, and a consistent, synchronised approach to making each day count for each pupil and their individual needs.
The ‘journey’ for the federation has only just begun, but already the staff, pupils and parents alike have benefitted from the renewed enthusiasm and a united front between the two schools.
Pupils, parents, governors and staff all contributed to the new ‘We are Bude Primary Federation’ image, which incorporates all the shared aims and ethos’ of the federation.
This image will be a constant reminder to all about what the school is trying to achieve, and what is deemed important to the pupils.
