ENTRIES are being received for the Launceston Santa Run 2017, which will take place on Sunday, December 10.

This year’s event will be starting and finishing at Coronation Park. The event will be supported by the Phoenix Leisure Centre, who are allowing the event to use the reception area for registration where participating Santas can collect their ‘Santa Suit’ and running number from 9.30am.

Event organiser Dave Gordon said: “This is the first year that this event has been run as a community event and I hope that local people of all ages will enter, to either run, jog or walk around the approximately three kilometer course.

“Entrants are welcome to bring along the family dog if they wish as long as it is on a lead. There will be a prize for the best dressed Santa, plus festive medals to all finishers. All this and gifts for the children finishers, which are generously sponsored by Launceston Youth Council.”

There is an event limit of 150 entries with any profit from the event being donated to local charities. Entry fees are £10 per adult and £8 for children under 14 years of age — entry fee includes a Santa suit.

Entry forms are available now from the Launceston Tourist Information Centre in the White Hart Arcade, or contact Dave on 01566 774706.
