EGLOSKERRY Nursery, a nature enpired pre-school, operating from a purpose built eco-building on the site of Egloskerry School, have been working hard since September 2015 to build up a high quality unique service to be proud of.

Managed by the Pre-School Learning Alliance, the ethical organisation who stand up for the sector, with over 55 years’ experience of working in partnership with parents to provide the best possible care and support for families and young children.

This first Ofsted report highlights how passionate they are about making a difference to children and the local community by creating this unique service to be proud of. The report finds that ‘Staff provide a rich and stimulating learning environment, with a good range of interesting resources… encouraging children to be curious and explore’.

The core ethos is ‘Nature-inspired learning experiences in a caring and secure environment’. The children benefit from regular Forest School experiences and continuous free flow throughout all areas of the custom build eco-building. Creating individualised and intrinsically motivated child centered learning experiences. The inspector commented on the unique approach: “Children benefit from regular opportunities to explore and understand the natural world. They enjoy using their senses to find out about different aromatic herbs they grow outdoors and pick them to use during play.”

Assessing Leadership and Management the inspector found that ‘The manager and staff are well qualified, which has a positive impact on children’s learning’ and ‘Staff facilitate an effective two-way flow of information to successfully involve parents in their children’s learning. Children benefit from a consistent approach to their care and leaning’.

The manager, an Early Year teacher and Forest School leader, who build the nursery up from the ground is very proud of the whole team and the community we support. “We are delighted with the report. We have a great team, who work well together to ensure that all the children in our care are safe, happy and progress well in their development.”
