A CHEPSTOW flight service manager has been chosen out of around 300 colleagues at Virgin Atlantic to model a new uniform designed by Vivienne Westwood.

To coincide with the firm's 30th birthday celebrations last year, Virgin launched a new uniform and appealed to staff to strut their stuff.

Darren Moore recently appeared on the ITV documentary Virgin: Up in the Air where he was labelled by the production company as 'doing it for the dads.'

He said: "I am hardly a model – the brief was to represent a cross-section of the staff who works for the company. I was labelled as 'doing it for the dads' as I have a 13- and five-year-old.

"Virgin Atlantic wanted to launch a glossy magazine called Runway that included all staff from across the business. So a call was put out across the company to 9,000 staff to audition to be part of it. I'm not sure how many applied but I'd say about 200 to 300 were invited to come and have their photo taken after applying online.

"I think I was just lucky to be in the right place to feature in the magazine."

Darren joined Virgin Atlantic 19 years ago at 21 years-old.
