DELABOLE Methodist Church celebrated 150 years of worship in the building on Sunday, March 17.

Coinciding with 150 years of worship is the 35th anniversary of the formation of the present church from the three churches which had evolved from the 19th century branches of Methodism.

The day commenced with a service led by the chairman of the Cornwall Methodist District, the Rev Steven Wild. The hymn singing was accompanied by the Delabole Churches Music Group, and lessons were read by Barbara Tyson and Patricia Molloy.

The Rev Wild reminded the congregation of events that happened 150 years ago and that the message of the Christian Church had not changed still requiring a commitment from people.
