The celebrations for the King’s coronation in Camelford went off with a bang with the community coming together under one roof to share in this momentous occasion.

Due to a less than favourable weather forecast the decision was made ahead of time to move the coronation celebrations to Camelford Leisure Centre.

There was plenty on offer to keep young and old entertained with musical performances and games throughout the day.

It was a real community effort and a Camelford Town Council spokesperson said: “A massive thank you to all those who came to enjoy the celebrations and support this event. Special thanks to Andy from Yetiserve for streaming the Coronation. It was no easy task.

“To Camelford Leisure Centre’s team for being wonderful, helpful and supportive hosts.

“To all our community stall holders (Higher Culloden Farm - community market garden, Camelford CIC, Community Larder and Brownies), New Hanger Management, Hannah from Cornish Crepes. Event Tech for the PA/Sound. SAS and Company B for our entertainment. Kirsty for her amazing cake. Ness and Katy for a fabulous art workshop. The Masons Arms for lending us the screen. Pickle Design for the wonderful mugs.

“And last, but certainly not least, to the Grounds Team (John, Neil and Dave) and CTC staff who pushed through much uncertainty with weather to provide another opportunity for the community to get together.”
