THE Countryman Hotel in Camelford is offering highly discounted stays to former Thomas Cook staff and customers until May 2020.
Run by new owners Kevin Parcel and Sue Evason, the Countryman is offering staff members and customers who have been affected by the collapse of travel agency Thomas Cook the opportunity to have a discounted stay at the hotel. The offer is running from October to May.
The act of kindness is to provide affected Thomas Cook staff and customers, who have either lost their jobs or are missing out on their holidays, with a little break, as the couple only know too well how the collapse of the company has created difficulty for former employees.
Kevin and Sue said: “Our daughter was a manager at Thomas Cook and it was devastating to her and her team. We have heard their stories and hardships they face without jobs. It’s also affected families who save hard for their holidays. We wanted to do a little to help and hope it would bring a little light of hope, knowing people care.”
People interested in applying for a stay can do so by ringing 01840 212250 or emailing [email protected]. Kevin and Sue will need to see evidence of employment with Thomas Cook or holidays that have been cancelled.
