SME Banking colleagues in South West Wales, in conjunction with Gravell's Kia, spent the day painting and landscaping at Narberth Community Swimming Pool as part of Lloyds Banking Group's commitment to volunteering.
Ten Lloyds Bank staff used their Day to Make a Difference to the local community by taking part. Day to Make a Difference is Lloyds Banking Group's volunteering programme where colleagues are invited to use at least one working day a year helping support their local community.
This joint project was undertaken in conjunction with Gravell's Kia, who are a prominent local sponsor and supporter of this local community facility. Materials and support was also generously provided by local businesses D. P. Building Supplies and Newbridge Nurseries and Narberth Stone and Gravel.
Robert Barber, senior manager SME Banking for South West Wales, said: "As part of the group's ambition to Help Britain Prosper, we were thrilled to use our Day to Make a Difference to support local people and help our community thrive."
Sue Rees, chair of SwimNarberth: "I would like to give a big thank you to all who took part and all the local companies who provided the materials. To Lloyds Bank for enabling the day and their staff for volunteering, the friends who volunteered to help and the generous companies who have already been mentioned, for giving us the great support that they have to complete the work. SwimNarberth is a community venture and we have received fantastic support to save our pool, but it is an ongoing project and will always need the support of all of the community in order to progress. This work has made a world of difference to the appearance of the building, it now looks welcoming and well cared for. Thank you all."
