Altarnun Veterans defeat their Southgate counterparts 4-2 in club fundraiser

By The Post in Football

Altarnun Football Club held a well-attended event for the local community and at the same time raised extra funds for the club when they took on Southgate on Saturday, July 1.

As well as the 90 minutes of football, the club organised a BBQ, a bar, teas and coffees and a raffle.

The game was played with great enthusiasm and skill with the desire to win shining through from both sets of players.

It was a very enjoyable and entertaining game of football for everybody with Altarnun running out eventual winners by four goals to two.

Departing club coach Richard Williams thanked all the helpers, members of the Southgate team and all the spectators for their excellent support.

Club secretary Kevin Sandercock then gave special thanks to Williams and assistant coach Simon Langdon for all of their hard work as they prepare to leave their roles.
